Our co-founder Antonio R. Ayala was honored to serve as a jury member in 2017 and again in 2018. I, Ana Lorena Amaya, had the privilege to join in 2018. These unforgettable experiences took place in New York City, where The One Club for Creativity brings together the most brilliant creative minds from around the globe.

What Is The One Club for Creativity?

The One Club for Creativity is a non-profit organization based in New York, dedicated to celebrating and supporting the global creative community. It champions creativity as the key driver of business success and social progress. Its mission is clear: to nurture a more vibrant, diverse, and connected industry by spotlighting excellence in design, advertising, and creative innovation.

As part of this mission, The One Club for Creativity organizes world-renowned award programs and initiatives that inspire and elevate creative talent. From the Young Ones Student Awards to the Creative Leaders Retreat, the organization creates spaces where students, emerging creatives, and seasoned professionals can come together, learn, and be recognized.

A Front-Row Seat to Tomorrow’s Talent

Serving as jurors for The One Club for Creativity meant reviewing work that was bold, innovative, and deeply reflective of cultural and social shifts. We had the privilege of evaluating student portfolios, experimental campaigns, and brand concepts that demonstrated not only skill but powerful storytelling and emotional intelligence.

What stood out the most was the sense of purpose behind many submissions. Young creatives around the world are using their work to address climate change, gender equality, mental health, and representation — not as trends, but as lived realities. Participating in this process was more than judging; it was witnessing the future of our industry unfold, one idea at a time.

What makes The One Club for Creativity truly unique is its commitment to inclusion, education, and progress. The organization runs programs like Creative Boot Camps for underrepresented communities, the Where Are All the Black People symposium, and Next Creative Leaders, developed in partnership with The 3% Movement. These initiatives don’t just open doors — they help reshape the industry.

As advocates for gender equity and diversity in design, Antonio and I found great resonance with The One Club for Creativity’s values. It felt aligned with our own mission at Jerome & Zimmerman: to use design as a tool for positive impact, and to help elevate stories that deserve to be seen and heard.

At its core, The One Club for Creativity is about connection — between cultures, generations, and disciplines. For us, being part of its jury wasn’t just an honor; it was a chance to learn, reflect, and grow. It reminded us of the responsibility we carry as creative professionals: to push boundaries, support new voices, and keep our work rooted in meaning.
